Double glazing repairs
The Glass Shop London Ltd carries out expert glazing repairs for doors and windows affected by condensation or misting between the panes. Where possible, we replace individual panes or seals to avoid the need for full window or door replacement, saving you time and money. We also repair faulty double glazing components, including locks, hinges, and handles. Free quotes are available for both domestic and commercial double glazing repairs.

Misted double glazing
Double-glazed units generally have a life span of around 10 - 15 years, over time the seal between the two pieces of glass degrades. This degradation causes the vacuum to fail, allowing air between the two panels of glass, and moisture then has nowhere to escape and condensates inside the unit. The only way to fix this is with a replacement double-glazed unit.
Mechanisms, handles and hinges
Issues with mechanisms, hinges and handles can lead to more issues than failed sealed units. Problems that arise from faulty windows include:
-
Drafts due to windows' mechanisms not engaging properly, which leads to gaps between the casement and seals.
-
Drafts due to hinges not operating correctly, which leads to gaps in the seal.
-
Inoperable, rusted or broken hinges being stuck open
-
Lack of ventilation in rooms due to inoperable handles or mechanisms, which leads to mould and damp build-up around windows
If you are experiencing any of these issues, we are more than happy to help! Book a free local survey or call today to stop drafts and get your windows back in working order. We specialise in uPVC and aluminium window repairs.
